The medieval town of Labin is perched high on the top of a hill, overlooking the town of Rabac and the sparkling Adriatic sea. It dates back more than 2000 years, but today it is popular with the younger generations, who hang out in the coffee bars scattered through the old city.

I had heard about this colourful little village and it was on our route, so we had a little wander around the cobbled streets and enjoyed the view.

There was a rather suspect elderly gentleman, dressed with a sailors cap on, who appeared to be the Pied Piper of the towns cats. Wherever he went, so a trail of 4 to 5 strays was always in tow.

Here is a photo essay of the picturesque old town of Labin.
